This section deals with upgrading your software from prior versions (as opposed to upgrading your license). At HermeTech software "Version" upgrades are free, so if you are running an older version of the software and would like to upgrade to the latest version all that you have to do is download the latest version from our website and install it right over your existing installation and voila, you're done!

Do I need to uninstall the software before I run the latest install? |

Typically NO. When you run the installer for the new version it will tell you if you need to uninstall the prior version first. |
IMPORTANT: If you are upgrading from the 32-Bit version to the 64-Bit version (or vice-versa) see the section on Upgrading to 64-Bit Versions.
While upgrading the software itself is simple there are a few common sense practices that you should follow:
oBefore you attempt to install the new version you should always make sure the old version is not currently running on the target computer (this includes the MS Windows Services).
oAlso before you begin, it is usually good practice to Remove the Windows Services from the MS Windows Services List. In the Windows Service Status Tab click the "Remove All Windows Services" button.
oBacking up your Critical Files is always a good idea.
