What is a Purge Data File?

In some instances a Purge data file is required from the HL7+ Client Installation in order for you to delete an installation without intervention from HermeTech customer service. This is typically true for either LIVE or DEMO client installations which have been activated but do NOT have local internet access OR have local internet access but have not pinged the HL7+ Web servers for an extended period of time.

How do I get a Purge data file? Create a Purge Data File from the HL7+ Client Console software in the Tools menu of the main window -> Deactivate This Installation. When this option is selected in the client software the user will be asked for a Hardware Reset Key which you will have to provide them with beforehand (Just click the Create Hardware Reset Key button). The HL7+ Client will then make sure that no HL7+ MS Windows Services are installed or running, purge the installation and create a file called HL7Plus.Purgedata.dat in the installation folder of the client software. This file needs to be delivered to your computer running the HL7+ Management Console software so that you can use it to delete or deactivate HL7+ Client installations which do not have internet access.

What do I do if the Client Computer has been destroyed or is inaccessible? If this is the case and you cannot access the client computer to create the Purge Data File then you will have to contact customer service and have them purge the installation for you. Just contact customer service for assistance.

What do I do with the file once I have it? You will use the file to delete or deactivate the installation in your HL7+ Management Console software.
