Log Levels

When running as a service, the system will produce helpful debugging data in files with a (.log) extension. How much logging is done is determined by setting the Service Logging Level. Click the 'Change Log Level' button and select the appropriate logging level.

Selecting the Log Level

There are 3 log levels to choose from.

1.Normal (Startup, Shutdown & Errors) - This level will create the smallest log files. In a smoothly running system, the log file would only contain a few small entries when the service was started and another few entries when the service stops. All program errors are logged as well.
2.Normal + Warnings (Startup, Shutdown, Errors & IP Connection Failures) - This level could potentially create a large log file if one or more of your profiles cannot connect to a listener.
3.MAXIMUM (Log All System Events) - This is the level to watch out for. It will create VERY large log files because it will log almost every event that occurs while the system is processing. This level can be very useful when debugging problems, BUT can be very dangerous if left on.
