Video: UltraPort HL7 Router

To send HL7 messages over TCP/IP you need an HL7 'Sender' or what we call a Router. An HL7 Router application sends HL7 messages to an HL7 Listener application like the UltraPort HL7 Listener or our CORE HL7 Listener.

In the UltraPort product line we have the outstanding UltraPort HL7 Router. This lightweight, but robust MS Windows Service application will install and configure in minutes and have an intuitive, easy to use interface. With the UltraPort HL7 Router you can be transmitting HL7 data over TCP/IP within just a few minutes after installation!

How does it work? The UltraPort Router will monitor a folder on your computer/server. When new HL7 data files are detected (files can contain 1 message or many messages) the router will extract all HL7 messages and transmit them to a waiting HL7 Listener Application using the specific TCP/IP address and port number designated by you. If necessary it will then wait for an appropriate HL7 Acknowledgement and (if desired) write that acknowledgement out to the file system. In short, we handle all of the outbound TCP/IP overhead for you!
