All HermeTech products released before 01 August 2012 used our 'legacy' product activation system and internet portal. This system and portal was taken offline and replaced with our new activation system and internet portal. The result of this to our customers was that any product purchased and installed before 01 August 2012 but activated after that date was unable to use the 'online activation' features built-in to every HermeTech product.

 

Legacy Products vs Legacy Activations?

Don't get these two confused, they mean two very different things.

A Legacy Product refers to older HermeTech products which, while still available, have been retired from active development and replaced with a current product. Example: HermeTech has a great legacy application called the EasyHL7 MS SQL Schema Engine. It was retired in 2010 and replaced by the UltraPort MS SQL Schema Engine. Legacy Activation refers to all versions of all HermeTech products released before 01 August 2012. All of these products were designed with built-in 'online activation' which used our now-retired internet portal. After 01 August 2012, all HermeTech products released before that date can no longer use their built-in 'online activation' and can be activated only by using this version of the HL7 License Manager software.

 

All current HermeTech products will be upgraded in the weeks following 01 August 2012, while all Legacy Products released before 01 August 2012 will NOT be converted to the new portal and can now ONLY be activated using either our website or the HL7 License Manager.
