From the 'File' menu of the main window select 'System Configuration' to open this dialog.
The Default Vendor files folder shown will be blank for a new installation.
First Time Installation
If this is the first time using the system, or to create a different installation, choose option 2 to install the default vendor definitions to a folder on the hard drive or network drive. This will install the default vendor definitions for HL7 versions 2.2, 2.3 and 2.4 to the folder you select. *WARNING* If you select a folder that already has vendor definitions installed, doing this will overwrite those definitions with the default installation and any new vendors created or modifications made since the original installation will be lost (however, a warning will be displayed allowing you to reconsider before this happens).
Existing Installation
If the vendor files have already been installed somewhere on the network, choose option 1 browse to the folder where they are installed. The number of vendor definitions present will be displayed above the vendor files folder.
If you already have vendor definitions installed and just need to import 1 or more vendor definitions into that installation folder see the Vendor Maintenance section.
Close the window when completed.
